New layout...hope you like it

So I changed my layout a bit....hope you all enjoy it as much as I do! I wasn't too sure at first, but then when I added the picture, I was hooked! That picture is one I took from the balcony of our condo in Colorado last summer that, sadly (SNIFF!!!), we will not be able to visit this year. But you know, I'll take the birth of my daughter over a little measly vacay any day! We can always go in September when the leaves are changing (or whenever Johnny builds his vacation time back up from paternity leave)!

Really, I don't have much else to discuss on here. We're all doing well here...just trying to stay dry in the monsoon we're experiencing the last couple of days (which I absolutely LOVE, by the way). I'm weird...I like rainy days. They give me a great excuse to stay inside and be snuggly with the boy (when he lets me, that is).

OH! A couple newsworthy topics: one good, one a little sad.

1) The hubster got a much-needed raise last week. We were stressing about fundage a bit, so that was good timing on God' part! :) Now we can pay off some of our debt before the new baby comes...which is very good news!

2) We are going to be a dogless family very shortly. After a lot of discussion about whether or not we should keep her, Molly is going to live with a couple from Johnny's work. They had discussed an interest (not to any particular person) in getting a silver schnauzer because they both grew up with one and Johnny told them that we had been trying to figure out if we should keep her or not. It all boils down to this: we love Molly, but we don't give her enough attention. She needs a lot more exercise and love than we have the energy to give her (especially me), and we feel that this other couple can give her that undivided love and attention (they have no children). We also realized something (3 dogs and 1 cat later): we are NOT high-maintenance pet people. Dogs and cats (well, not cats so much, unless you count scooping their litter) require a lot more devotion than either of us are willing to give out at this point in our lives. Right now, a fish is probably as much as we can handle...and even that we're a little hesitant about. Sad, I know. And we also decided that it's better to give Molly to someone now before J.J. gets really attached to her. He'll probably notice that she's not there anymore, but he won't miss her.

So there you go...that's the news in the Hughes household. More later when more excitement hits.
